OxfordVR

The following projects are ones I worked at as part of Oxford VR.
I joined a medium sized team of developers, artists, animators and psychologists and worked to create several applications, as well as porting existing apps from tethered VR on Vive, to standalone headsets (Quest, Pico, Vive Focus)

My role within OxfordVR was to create and maintain VR applications to support mental health therapy, and to work closely with a team of programmers, artists and psychologists. My main achievements were:

  • Developing and porting applications to Standalone VR Headsets; Oculus Quest 2, Pico Neo 2, Vive Focus Pro

  • Integration and expansion of XR Interaction Packages

  • Creation of Android Launcher and Installer for products

  • Wwise Integration and support

  • Use of packages and GIT Submodules in conjunction with Unity Command Line build infrastructure

  • Participating in Architectural discussions and Source Control upkeep

  • Writing maintainable code and participation in peer code reviews

Fear of Heights

I developed several activities to be performed at varying heights in the application

We decided to make the activities have a goal unrelated to height, to make the fact that they were at height less concerning.

I developed activities including, picking apples, rescuing a cat on a cherry picker, painting the view and popping bubbles.

This was delivered on Quest and ported from the original tethered Vive application in the video.

Avoidance Behaviours

I developed all of the avoidance app, aiming to place users into scenarios that they may feel uncomfortable and want to deploy their avoidance behaviours. The app is designed to not allow users to perform this behaviour, due to not being able to walk away for example. After each stimulus, the user is asked to rate their experience, to focus on the improvements they have made on repeat visits.

Worry and Rumination

The Worry and Rumination app was built to instruct people on what worrying and rumination behaviours mean to people, and how to deal with them.

I built 2 out of the 3 parts of this application, the education and the breaking of rumination practice.
